# Welcome Bonus
When the Welcome Bonus applies, a wallet can receive a free Mythical Tier boost on its first eligible Bond purchase. This means the user gets to experience the highest Ape Tier benefits during that purchase, including the maximum extra Bond discount available through the tier system.
### Why It Exists
ApeBond’s ecosystem is built around Bonds, Ape Points, Ape Tiers, and True Yield.
For new users, those mechanics can be powerful, but they are easier to understand once they experience them directly.
The Welcome Bonus gives selected wallets a simple way to see what the top of the system feels like from the start.
### How It Works
If a wallet qualifies for the Welcome Bonus, the boost is applied directly during the eligible Bond purchase flow.
There is no extra action required from the user.
When the user buys their first eligible Bond, the Welcome Bonus can apply a one-time Mythical Tier benefit to that purchase.
This allows the user to receive the maximum tier-based extra discount on that Bond.
### What Users Get
When the Welcome Bonus applies, users can benefit from:
* a one-time Mythical Tier boost
* the maximum tier-based extra Bond discount
* a smoother first experience with the ApeBond ecosystem
* a direct introduction to how Ape Tiers improve Bond purchases
The Welcome Bonus is designed to make the value of ApeBoost and Ape Tiers easier to understand from the first interaction.
### After the First Purchase
The Welcome Bonus is a one-time boost.
After it has been used, the user’s future tier benefits depend on their own Ape Points, ApeBoost position, and Ape Tier progression.
The eligible Bond purchase can still contribute to the user’s ApeBoost position, helping them build Ape Points, grow their True Yield earning power, and move toward future tier benefits.
### Availability
The Welcome Bonus only applies to selected wallets and eligible Bond purchases.
When the Welcome Bonus is available, users will see it directly in the Bond purchase flow.
